I LOVE to dance at weddings, be it in circle, in a line, in a group, or alone. And I
We're talking full-dip-down-to-the-floor for the "toe-tap" and full turns on what should be the grape-vine. (and yes I even know the technical terms for these dance moves).
I danced SO HARD and full-out during The Electric Slide that I my quads still ache today, 3+ days after the wedding. It was worth. every. second. I owned that dance.
I had a blast!
Which leads me ask, do you dance at weddings?
Do you have a favorite song to strut-your-stuff to, at weddings?
And another important point.... DJ or Band?
Mike is dying for a band and I could go either way, just so long as, ya know, they play the electric slide.

Looks like you had an awesome time! We went for a DJ. It was easier than trying to track down a band we liked with the limited amount of time we had
ReplyDeleteI dance when majorly intoxicated. It's never a good idea, and now that I'm old, it always leads to two weeks of PAIN AND SUFFERING. (And not just for the people who happened to witness said dancing, though they usually need therapy of a different sort)
ReplyDeleteOMG I LOVE IT! I was a dance major in college so I LOVE to dance at weddings! I am also a lover of the electric slide as well as the Cha Cha slide and anything else with a good beat! DJ vs Band is a toughie but either way Audition them extensivly. Create a list of MUST have songs and ask the band to play them for you and be sure to finalize the MUSTs with enough time for the band to practice. Get a lot of references for DJs and actually call them because sometimes they just SUCK!

You are so cute! I used to rock out to the electric slide back in the day at middle school dances. I haven't heard it in years!
ReplyDeleteDude,... those photos are priceless. Seriously - HUGE thanks to Mike for making sure it was documented.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I need alcohol to get down at a wedding, and I tend to prefer a DJ just because there are soooo many songs I love that I would hate to hear a band butcher. If you go the band route, I hope you love them!
I ALWAYS dance at weddings. DeeJays are easier because they can always play the songs you want. Bands are more fun though.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I know your pain! I tore a tendon in my knee teaching my students the "Thriller" dance!!
Tee hee, thanks for the love, despite the embarrassing nature!
