The Best Present

This past weekend my birthday celebrations kicked serious butt.  I enjoyed myself entirely and felt so loved.  However, a birthday wouldn't be a birthday without presents (let be honest, here).

Mike totally stresses about what to get me every year.  And I admit, I'm hard to buy for and to surprise.  Mike tried countless times to get "that reaction" of amazement and total awe, and has come very close. So this year he went the safe route of running a few ideas by me.  If he went with his gut-feeling without asking me, all would be well, because I loved everything.

However there is one thing I loved above all else.
And it only cost $2.99.

The card.

"Hopeless Romantic" & "Mike" will only ever be found together in this sentence.
(But I like him that way, because sappy stuff makes me uncomfortable)

His inner Romeo came out.

His card is the one in front, with the silly-cat-face and "Wife" on it!

Take a closer look:

He wrote "future" before "wife."

Alone, that card made my birthday.
I am so lucky to have him as my "future" husband!

  1. AWWW, such a sweetie 'neath that rough exterior, yes?
    I love it.

  2. awwww I have tears in my eyes. How sweet is that!!!!!!!!

  3. And just think; I was worried you would think I was being lame :)

  4. Oh no! In a frantic, last minute attempt to get my site "SITS" worthy, I cut/paste a huge chunk of site buttons into a Word file for after my SITS day. I was on the fence about doing it and, sure enough, someone is missing their link! Well, I feel like quite the bully!
Your button (along with all the others) has been returned to its rightful place on my blog. It still looks neat and if those SITS gals don't like it, phooey to them! ;)

  5. What a sweetie :)
    You're such a lucky duck.

  6. That is awesome! My DH did stuff like that when we were engaged - well, he STILL does stuff like that, LOL!!!

    Happy SITS day!!

  7. It sounds like you are on track to have a wonderful marriage. No matter what happens, it's the details that count. A husband can give you a fancy car/ring/house, but what will make you happy is how he thinks of you, how he talks to you, how he treats you on a daily basis.

  8. Awww that's so cute! I imagine that you are really looking forward to married life. Hope that you are having a fabulous SITS day xxx

  9. Aww adorable. My hubby writes the most amazing cards that I store in a special place. Hold onto him, he's a keeper.

Happy SITS day and Merry Xmas!
