Wedding Plans, thus far!

To put things into perspective for myself, and for my new followers who might need some catching up on the plans, here's what we know so far (with lovely little links to related posts!):

Date: June 19. 2011

Location: The Carnegie Institution

Time: Evening, 5-10:30 (tentative)

Attendants: 4 on each side, with the cutest flower girl ever

Ceremony: Jewish, lead by a Rabbi

Reception entertainment: Time Machine Band (10 piece!)

Color scheme: peacock inspired (deep blues, teal, copper and gold - possibly with purple accents)

My gown: PURCHASED and a SECRET! ha! (still in need of alterations)

We have 11 months to figure out many details, but the latest and greatest on the table are:
-Caterers (we have two lined up for tastings, YUM)
-Bridesmaids dresses (my bestie, Meagan, is coming in town in 3 weeks to shop with us!)
-Photography (a hobby of mine, so I'm super critical about this detail!)
-Honeymoon (thinking Greece? Maybe something on a beach?)
-first dance song (our list is about 8 long, as of now)
-Save the Dates (sending out paper ones)
-finalizing our invitee list

  1. If you want print-it-yourself save the dates, let me know and I'll do them for free for you! Also, I saw this on a wedding website earlier this week (can't remember which one, otherwise I'd link you there) and thought it'd be perfect for your wedding!

  3. The peacock inspired color scheme is going to be beautiful! Great inspiration. Here is a link I posted when I first started Hip Weddings about my own planning mistakes if you want to take a look.

  8. I know I've already said it, but peacocks are my newest crush!
I just scored the greatest ever summer dress...white w/chocolate and a peacock feather print all.over.it. I would so wear it to your shower!! ;)

Sounds like you've got everything down pat, so far. I'm going to rack my brain for a guest post...I've a couple of possibilities.

  9. Wait, when did you find our wedding cake topper (the accompanying photo)? Because that's the winner.

  11. It sounds like everything is going to be great! If you visit my blog and look under "Who are these people?" there is a tale of our own wacky wedding snafu. You'd think that the officiant being stoned really wouldn't be something you have to worry about, but lo and behold it happened to us! LOL.

I put your button on my blog and am hoping to take you up on your button exchange offer. Lemme know what you think. Thanks! :)

  12. It sounds like you have it under control! Greece is amazing, you'll love it. We spent 5 days in Santorini and I didn't want to leave. I love your colors as well. Congrats again!

  13. Wow, I can't imagine planning a wedding for that long. I was close enough to the planning for my brother's wedding...I think 3 months will be long enough when/if I get engaged!

  15. Dude! You are going to have a sweet wedding! Love the peacock colors, super awesome! 8 first dance songs eh? I don't know why you don't just mesh em all together and have a super cool dance. Totally what we did. ;)

  16. This isn't really a "planning" thing, but did I ever tell you about the time I was getting my dress altered and the woman stabbed herself in a vein, thus bleeding all over it like a month before my wedding. That was fun. :)
